Workday Architect
Our client is undergoing a major transformation as we
move forward with the R2R (Recruitment to Retirement) project and implementation of
Workday. To this end, we are seeking for a Architect – (Implementation & Operations) to
guide the design of the solution and to manage a team of 8 Functional Business Analysts,
working with HR, Academic Personnel Office and the project team to translate business
requirements into functional requirements for our end users.
The Technical Architect will be the reference for Workday solution with both high-level
and specific knowledge and understanding of HR business processes.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of Functional Analyst:
o Offer coaching and support
o Foster professional development and manage performance
Drive solution regarding cross functional subjects
Ensure consistency of the overall Workday functional solution. Review
deliverables for consistency and coherence.
Conduct business analysis, evaluate alternatives, bring recommendations and
ensure successful implementation for various global subjects including:
o Security / role assignments
o Reports
o Terminated employees
o Local apps replacement and / or decommissioning
o And other subjects as they arise
HR point of contact for non-HR users requesting access to HR data.
Provide Workday technical expertise to the functional team to design technical
solutions required to support HR transformation and articulate proposed solutions
in business terms demonstrating technical effectiveness in meeting business
needs.
Partner with Business (central HR, Provost, Academic Personal Office (APO) …)
and IT across functional areas to get buy in and build ownership for
transformation.
For the areas of responsibilities, set direction and priorities and provide
guidance/direction to the Functional Business Analyst team in their work with the
integrator – trouble shoot and propose alternative HR solutions to issues arising in
the implementation process.
Responsible for Workday releases / tenant management.
Responsible for ensuring translation.
Contribute to End to End testing approach, ensure consistency of End to End
scenarios and coverage of the total scope.
Manage testing activities: responsibilities, availability, assignment and priority.
Facilitate new team member onboarding, training/certification
Responsible for the Solution evolution:
o Functional roadmap
o Develops and/or recommends standards, guidelines and best practices for
vendor software integrations
Other Qualifying Skills And/Or Abilities:
Undergrad degree in a related fields and 5 years of relevant experience with minimum of
2 of those years implementing Workday HR.
Formal training / certification in Workday HCM and other modules
Knowledge and understanding of Higher Education and of its HR policies and procedures
for both administrative and academic staff preferred.
Initiative and strong ability to make qualitative judgments related to all Core HR areas
and to make critical design decisions as well as influence and obtain buy-in from HR
Process Owner(s) and other key stakeholders at all levels.
